Prime is known for their high end sandwiches due to the high quality of their meat and ingredients. Among my favorite plates are: The Sinker (Marble Red Fish & Chips), Steakhouse (Cheeseburger), Slammer (Chicken Salad Sandwich), Southside (Prime Rib Sandwich), Corleone (Buffalo Chicken Sandwich), and Concetta (Steak Salad). They are all delicious! The Corleone: grilled chicken breast tossed in spicy buffalo sauce, topped with melted blue cheese, served on a toasted ciabatta bun alongside baby greens and sliced tomato, with a dollop of cilantro lime aioli, mmmm....yep...that's my favorite so far. The chicken is tender and juicy, the buffalo sauce is tangy with a nice touch of vinegar, a taste rich of butter, and of course it is spicy. The ciabatta bun is a perfect compliment, and the icing on top is the lime cilantro aioli. The velvety character of the lime cilantro aioli fused with the tangy but spicy buffalo sauce is extremely savory. This sandwich is a must have! See my full review at desireandconsequence.com !

Gosh I know you all know I don't like sending out bad vibes by writing reviews that are negative in anyway. However at times one can't help themselves. Scene : empty and over staffed at moment Menu: seems a bit pricey. Ordered: NM Rice balls and turkey sandwich. I ordered the rice balls because it was something different. We placed order, our server walked by our table a few times. 15 minutes or so into waiting and watching server walk back and forth she finally comes to inform us that the appetizer was going to take longer than expected because of a new cook. That would have been fine however the place had no patrons, we were hungry and I feel once she put our order in she could have told us at that point. However wasting 15 minutes to not say a word then asking if we'd like something else knowing full well it would prolong our lunch was rather disappointing to me. Also the flies buzzing around our table didn't help the situation. Food: The Bootleggers turkey sandwich was decent at best. The guacamole looked a day or two old. Somewhat brownish in color instead of the beautiful green color we are used to when ordering guacamole. Potato salad was decent, large chunky red potatoes not all were cooked thoroughly. Hopefully if we try this place again it'll be a different experience. The brunch menu looked really good. Positive attributes: decor is nice

Me and my fiance love the salads. The guy that served us made us feel like we were bothersome to him. Food was good and we will try again. Hopefully we will get a different server.

Well, I hear this place will soon be Vernon's open door and I'm hoping that's a good thing. This is my second visit and I'm sad to say I have been disappointed twice. We came for lunch when they first opened and had to get the food to go in order to be back to work on time. We ordered half a sandwich and soup/salad and couldn't figure out why it took over 30min to get our food when the place wasn't even full! Tonight the place is full, but again we have been waiting over 30 minutes for sandwiches that we still have not received. The table next to us is already done eating and still we wait.......we have been offered free dessert but really it just doesn't make up for this. The other sad part is that the "manager" was also the hostess and she does not seem to be qualified to be doing either....

We live very close to Prime and have eaten here many times, both dine in and carry out. The food is great and the portions are very generous. My favorite sandwich is the Bootlegger; I order it every time, and I love their potato salad. My husband's favorite sandwich WAS the Angry Sicilian, and he liked to get the half sandwich and Straight Shooter salad. My main complaint while dining in is that I find the design of the chairs to be horribly uncomfortable, and usually have to sit on the very edge of the chair while eating. But overall, it's nice for a quick and easy lunch or dinner and it's close by. On our most recent visit, however, we were disappointed to see that the menu had been drastically reduced. Several items had been removed, including the Angry Sicilian, and there is no longer the option to order the half sandwich with soup or salad (we asked the waitress after not seeing it on the menu, and she said they don't do that anymore). My hubby ordered another sandwich instead (can't remember which one) and although he said it was very good, he didn't like that he couldn't order the half sandwich and salad any more. He said he'll still eat at Prime, but won't want to go as often as he used to or will get something from Wise Pies on the other side instead. If they get rid of the Bootlegger, we may have to stop going to Prime altogether.

Came here on a Friday night around 6 PM. We were seated fairly quickly even though the place was full. Apparently they have upstairs seating as well, but were not using it that night due to ventilation issues. Our order was taken in a timely manner, but the food seemed to take for ever to get to us. We actually saw it sitting on the bar for at least five minutes before it was finally brought over to us (minus one star...). I had the club sandwich which was tasty, but nothing extraordinary. There is enough on the menu to try that we'll be back, but only when we don't want to drive too far from home.

Very pleasantly surprised! We came one night before a movie with a couple of friends and everyone left smiling. The service was great - our waitress answered all our questions, made suggestions and made sure our glasses were always at least half full. The food was good, much better than it read on the menu the upgraded truffle fries were a nice touch. The iced tea was really good - I'm an iced tea drinker so I always remember the tea! The only criticism we had was that it was a bit pricey.

This was the second visit. Manager asked me to try restaurant again. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding and portion sizes were great. I will certainly visit this restaurant again. Thanks for the great customer service!

Ok so we went back today to see if it was better, well our favorite waiter was there Angelo was his name not Dominic. As always Angelo made sure everything was good and our cups always filled. Now on to the food, it's good food like I said before. This time our food was out in 12 min not to bad being there were a lot more people in there this time. Lot of bread not so much meat. I got the Southside and the wife had the Hitman. Both were good and the fries were awesome nice and crispy haven't had good fries like that since pop n taco. Will we be back? Yes but hopefully there is more meat to bun ratio going on next time.

We live close by and watched this strip mall get built. Then we saw businesses move in. There was this mysterious sign on the front marquee that read "Prime." Needless to say we were very curious and being fairly new to Albuquerque we still haven't made our way around the town to the smaller restaurants. I later learned that this gourmet sandwich shop was a second location and tied to the famous Vernon's. Finally the day came. My family and I would try this gourmet with high expectations. Let me take you on a little journey where this restaurant falls short to deliver and if it should really be around. We went during the week. When you walk in you can go left to Wise guy's Pizza or right to Prime (Same owners.) The restaurant had only been open for a few weeks when we dined. There was one other table eating. I looked at the menu. I really didn't balk at the prices because I was expecting some high quality sandwiches. I ordered the Southside. This sandwich has shaved prime rib and green chile paired with a house-made au jus. When I saw the sandwich it was barely a sandwich. I kept going and took a bite. The prime rib tasted dry and seemed like it was sliced from a deli counter at Wal-Mart. Really? This is owned by a steak joint and this is what I get? It was terrible and I really like spicy food, but this sandwich had a weird spice and wasn't enjoyable. The wait staff was semi friendly. When we were ready to place our order the waitress seemed to be talking to another waitress for a while across the room. Probably because they were bored. When she finally came to the table we ordered. I asked a few questions about the restaurant and she seemed to know the answers. I haven't been back since, so they may have their liquor license now. I believe their intent was to serve local craft beer. Let's recap. I have NO ISSUES spending a few more bucks on a good sandwich. Did you hear that NO ISSUES. When you are a fancy steak place and open a gourmet sandwich shop, you better be on point. So now our meal is over and we get the ticket. It was $40, my sandwich was terrible, and now I'm trying to figure out why this sandwich meal was so insanely expensive. On the bright side my daughters ate spaghetti kids meals. You can't really mess up spaghetti. Prime, I don't know how you do at your other location but you really need to step it up. If you are in the area and want a gourmet sandwich, don't bother. There is a franchise sandwich in the same mall. Go spend $5 on their "gourmet" sandwich. Cheers!

So I have been waiting on this place to open for a while now especially knowing the people from Vernons Steakhouse own this place I figure they would serve up some killer fresh sandwiches. When I came here I had their prime rib sandwich which was actually really good but for 13 bucks and the small portions I really wasn't to impressed. But overall the food is good.

More expensive than it should have been, $35 for 2 sandwiches and drinks. Sandwiches were ok, nothing super special. Service was attentive, atmosphere industrial. Music a bit too loud for my taste. The chairs were uncomfortable....

I had the Cobb salad. The turkey almost tasted a little old but other than that, it was very good. The fried fish looked really good. I'll probably try that next time. Service was great and the ambience is really cool.

Prime opened here in Rio Rancho recently and we decided to try it tonight. Prime shares a large industrial-type space with Wise Pies, and they are obviously owned by the same parent company. They bill themselves as a casual dining restaurant, but us "old folks" categorize this place as a young-people's bar. The thumpy music, the atmosphere, the young "chick-y" servers, the bar - all point to the fact that this is probably going to be a place where 20- and 30-somethings hang out. They don't have their liquor license yet, which may be why the place was deserted. We saw more people on the pizza side; Hubby and I were the only patrons on Prime's side. The menu is interesting - lots of very eclectic sandwich offerings. Prices are about $2.00 per item too high--they could cut the prices and still make money. Hubby had the Prime burger and fries supposedly made in-house. The cooks could take lessons in fry-making from either Five Guys or Ironwood Kitchen---the fries here were skinny and almost tasteless. Hubby said that the burger was good; it comes with the requisite lettuce, tomato, pickle, and red onion and choices of three extra add-ons. Not a bad burger for $10! I had the N.4th something-or-other - turkey and cheese, tomato, onion, guacamole, and green chile. Normally comes on focaccia, but I ordered it on sourdough. I'm not sure that the turkey was roasted in-house, but it was good. The house-made kettle chips were crisp and there were lots of them, but they didn't have a lot of flavor. Again, the sandwich and chips were $10. Soft beverages are $2.00 each. I'm not sure we'll be back. The restaurant felt very sterile and industrial, not the type of atmosphere that Hubby and I like.

After a disastrous first visit to Prime Rio Rancho, I was generously offered a $30 credit by the owner to try the restaurant again. I decided to use that credit on Saturday 2/14. There were two things I had to consider: that it was Valentine's Day and they were likely to be very busy, and would I be less analytical (a nice way of saying critical) because the food was free. I decided that a busy service would be the best time to see if turnaround time would be better. I am pleased to say, that with a full house, it only took 15 minutes to receive the same sandwiches it had taken 30 minutes to receive before. This time my order was correct the first time and still warm. I ordered the Kitty Kat Club and the Southside. I first noticed that my Club was made with sourdough bread whereas the first I received was made with white bread. Such an important difference. Secondly, the bread tasted more toasted and seasoned than the first. I sat down totally prepared with salt and pepper shakers to season my sandwich as I had done on the previous visit. I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't need any seasoning at all. The turkey was seasoned quite well, the ham moist, and the bacon cooked crisp but not hard. The whole sandwich was a reminder of why I started patronizing PRIME in the first place. The sandwich was delicious! My daughter ate the Southside. She echoes my sentiments. Her sandwich, too, was deliciously seasoned, warm, and the jus was also delicious. Now for the NOT so bad news. Though the french fries reminded me of home-made, they were not salted. Deep-fried foods have to be salted while they are hot or the salt won't stick. Also, they might try the twice-fry method so that as they cool, they don't become limp. There was something in the potato salad that was biting my tongue as if there was too much garlic or maybe too much strong-flavored mustard. I couldn't eat it, but my daughter said it was good. So there you have it, taste is subjective. I want to thank the owner for the credit and the opportunity to try this location again. Though I was never considering discontinuing eating at PRIME on 4th, I now know I can take a short drive down the street and get a good sandwich. And I appreciate that this location is open until 9 p.m.

We tried this last week and was very disappointed. I had a an Italian sandwich which very pricey for what you got...Jimmy Johns is way better and more affordable and quality is perfect for what you get. My wife had a bowl of soup and she said it wasn't bad. We had the spinach artichoke dip with bow tie pasta...way too chewy of pasta and too much cayenne pepper seasoning! You can do better!

I'm sticking with 3 stars after our second visit to Prime. Had the black and bleu and it was good, and sizable. So was the club sandwich which reminded me of a traditional club sandwich in size and taste. The fries were disappointing and undercooked. If I'm in the area looking for a sandwich I'd definitely swing in. But it's not on the top of my list for places to crave for.

Awesome layout. What looks like two separate restaurants is actually one. To the left you have Wise Pies, and to the right you have Prime. The inside was thought through very carefully. It reminded me of cafes and eatery's in the Bay Area. It's dual level seating. We chose to sit on the 2nd floor. Upon entering we were greeted by the seating hostess. I have to say she was very friendly. We were seated right away and greeted by the staff on the second floor. Menus are a simple 2 sided sheet clipped to a clip board. Very easy to read. The menu has may different options. From sandwiches to pasta dishes and even meatloaf. The appetizers and entrees were decently priced. We ordered the Double dip, which are bread meatballs served with marinara or Alfredo sauce. These were VERY good. As for the entrees, I ordered the Kitty Kat Club and my wife ordered the N. 4th Bootlegger. They were both very tasty and well portioned. The fries here are house made and fresh. You can even order house chips. They make these with malt vinegar, which I'm not a fan of. Either way they have a nice twist to them. Server was great, friendly and answered all our questions.

Good sandwiches. Fresh bread. Good flavors. Once they've got their liquor license and they get some TVs up the atmosphere will be a lot nicer. But overall nice to have a gourmet sandwich sit Dow. Restaurant in Rio Rancho

I have been to Prime 4 times with inconsistent results. The spinach artichoke dip is good but todsy they nickled and dimed us $3 dollars to get extra pasta to eat the remainder of the dip. The red chile pasta has been varied everytime I think the sauce is just red chile no cream sauce. Sandwich bread was super soggy on one sandwich and others have been great. They need to get their act together if theywant to stay in business.

It's been open for a few months so I thought we would try it.one thing that is a turn off is the chairs.pure metal with no cushion at all.and tiny as well.its a bit dark inside which can make the print on the menu hard to read.but I can say the waitress we had was very friendly and attentive and knowledge. Got the wings as an appetizer and they were big and delicious. We got 3 different entrees and everything was presented nicely and good sized amounts.everthing tasted great.

Wife's sandwich (Hitman) was dry. Bread was very dry and the meat was dry too with no flavor. French fries were a little undercooked and WAY TOO SALTY. I ordered the Pachuco (similar to huevos rancheros) off the brunch menu. Ordered the beef steak strips medium and they came well done. Overall, the Pachuco was also too salty. Service was decent but the food was subpar. Probably won't be returning.

My wife and I went to both Wise guys pizza and prime last night. We had the number 2 pizza, chicken Alfredo on traditional crust, at wiseguys. The dough was pre-made and not much flavor, thin crust. They also had a thin crust listed on the menu but I'm not sure they could buy a thinner crust than the traditional crust. The chicken was scarce on the pizza about 11 pieces about the size of a dime. The Alfredo sauce had pretty good flavor though. For $9 though I'll pass on going back. The sandwich we shared was the sliced prime rib with a u ' jus on what appeared to be focaccia bread. The bread did not hold up well when dipped and the meat didn't have much flavor. The menu said that the sandwich came with mushrooms and green chili. The mushrooms where evident in the sandwich but the green chili was a no show in the flavor department. Overall the place had a pretty cool feel to it but the chairs are terrible. The food was not anything to remember and we won't be coming back. To many places near that have better food at better prices.
